Iran had previously practiced April attack on occupied territories: IRGC
TEHRAN – Iran had practiced its April attack on Israeli positions in the occupied territories multiple times during military maneuvers, said the spokesman for the Islamic Revolution Guard corps on Saturday.
"In various maneuvers, we had practiced attacking the bases of the Zionist regime and were fully prepared to respond to the Zionist regime when needed. They made us put what we had practiced into use by making a strategic mistake in attacking the Iranian consulate in Damascus. we carried out a punitive action in a timely, well-prepared manner. “Brigadier General Ramazan Sharif stated during a press conference in the capital Tehran.
The spokesperson highlighted the fact that Iran could deal a significant blow to Israel despite the regime’s sophisticated military and defense capabilities.
“Despite Israel being equipped with the most advanced military technologies, in Operation True Promise, we identified the enemy's weaknesses, showcased our capabilities, and witnessed a successful operation thanks to the efforts of the patriotic military forces of our country,” the general explained.
Sharif also pointed out Washington’s acknowledgment of Iran's successful targeting of designated sites during the operation.
"Although the enemy tried to suggest that 99% of Iranian missiles and drones did not hit their target, with God’s will, all these false allegations were debunked, and America and other allies of the Zionist regime announced that Iran's attack on designated targets was successful."
On April 14, Iran launched numerous drones and missiles towards the occupied territories in response to an attack by the Israeli regime on Iran's diplomatic premises in Damascus. The defense systems of Israel, the U.S., the UK, France, and Jordan worked to intercept Iran's projectiles. However, aerial footage and videos captured during the attack reveal that Tehran successfully struck the military bases it had aimed for. Iranian officials have confirmed that positions from the occupied Golan Heights to the Negev Desert have been destroyed.
